Cold weather sticks around, but rain and maybe some winter weather is on the way

Good evening,
After a cold day in Middle Georgia, expect a few more as we head to the weekend.
Tomorrow will be another chilly day, but sunshine will be plentiful. Enjoy the sunshine, because we won’t be seeing much of it over the weekend.

By Saturday heavy rain starts to move into the area and will be hanging around through much of Sunday and into Monday. Severe storms are not expected.

Rain totals from 2-3″ are possible across Middle Georgia. It will also be quite chilly, with highs in the 40’s over the weekend.

Overnight Sunday into Monday, we could see a change over from rain to a wintry mix. Measurable snowfall is not expected in our area, but a few snowflakes are not out of the question, as well as some sleet pellets.

The forecast for snow, right now (this is important and will likely change), brings very heavy snowfall to areas of the Carolinas and potentially to some areas in far northeast Georgia.
