The cold weather has continued across the southeast. More cold weather is headed for Middle Georgia and it looks to move in with heavy rain as well.
Tomorrow will be our last dry day for a while here in Middle Georgia. It will also be our warmest day until the middle of next week.
Heavy rain begins in our northern counties on Saturday morning and will spread through the area through the day and into the evening. The rain will likely continue all the way through Sunday afternoon, when we finally get a little break. More scattered showers will linger on the other side of the low.
While people may be excited about the potential for some winter weather (don’t get too excited…our chances to see snow are low), the main threat over the weekend is the potential for 2-3″ of rainfall.
Now to the winter weather…if we see anything here in Middle Georgia, the likelihood is that it will just be some snow and sleet mixed with rain. No accumulations are expected in our area, but if you want to find some snow, I would suggest heading to the Carolina mountains.
