Bibb county deputies respond to bomb threats

Multiple businesses receive bomb threats through e-mail

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Bibb County Fire Department responded to several calls of bomb threats just after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.

It was reported that several businesses received a email stating there was a bomb in the building.  

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department checked the locations and determined that it was safe and no devices were in the buildings.

Investigators were advised by the FBI that email threats are currently being received nationwide.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office ask that if you receive an email threat, follow your business security measures, make sure unauthorized people have not entered your location and call police.
