MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office recognized community members, pastors, and law enforcement officials today.

The Sheriff’s Office held it’s annual Christmas luncheon. People gathered over good food, conversation, and awards. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office recognized productive people in the community who had an outstanding year.

Lieutenant Cornelius Pendleton says this year they’re celebrating local pastors.

“To sit down, to see us as real people, see us as the same people who sit down at their tables with them, and see can we come together and get a conversation to stop some of this violence that’s going on,” he said.

Lieutenant Pendleton says they will also give awards to the officers in District 4’s Violent Crimes Unit at a later date.
