MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators are working the county’s second homicide of the year.
Deputies say 21-year-old Deshafore Hicks was shot to death outside a home near the corner of Houston Avenue and Villa Crest Avenue just before 6 Thursday night.
Deputy coroner Lonnie Miles says Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members say Hicks stayed out of trouble and was a good person.
“That’s all I want to know,” Hicks’ cousin Zequils Martin said. “What was the reason to do it? You tore up our family. You took somebody from us. He didn’t bother anybody at all.”
Miles says investigators have a person of interest in custody. Investigators are still working to find out what led to the shooting.
