MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – It has been another pleasant afternoon across Middle Georgia with temperatures on the mild side, but warmer weather is on the way as we head throughout the rest of the work week and into the weekend.
A mostly clear sky will allow temperatures to cool off quickly after sunset at 8:25 pm this evening. I expect overnight low temperatures to bottom out in the upper 40’s and lower 50’s across the region. Temperatures in this range will be running up to 10° cooler than normal for this time of year.
A gradual warming trend continues tomorrow afternoon with temperatures slowly climbing into the lower 80’s. Under a mostly sunny sky temperatures will be near normal before falling back into the middle 50’s overnight. A few clouds will begin to roll in late during the day and into the night on Wednesday.
Thursday will be our next best chance of seeing rain, but even then rain showers will be hard to come by. A mix of sun and clouds on Thursday afternoon will see a few isolated showers fall across Middle Georgia. These showers will be light and very isolated, so rain chances are running at just about 20% on your Thursday afternoon. As we move to Friday and into the weekend, temperatures are going to climb into the lower 90’s. It is going to feel more like the middle of June rather than the middle of May. We will stay dry and sunny during the weekend for the most part, but a few isolated showers cannot be ruled out late on Sunday and into Monday.
