MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Enjoy the afternoon high temperatures in the upper 70’s and low 80’s because by this weekend we will be seeing 90° temperatures for the first time in 2019.
Clouds will begin to roll in as we head into your Wednesday evening. Under a partly cloudy sky tonight temperatures will be hovering in the middle 50’s across the region.
We are currently sandwiched between two high pressure systems, but a system out to our west will begin to break down leading to a few rain shower chances tomorrow afternoon. Under a mix of sun and clouds temperatures will be running in the middle to upper 80’s. While an isolated shower cannot be ruled out completely, rain will be hard to come by so rain chances tomorrow are running at just about 10%. Tomorrow evening temperatures will feel much warmer under a partly cloudy sky. Overnight low temperatures will be returning to the above normal range in the lower to middle 60’s.
Friday there is a slight chance for a few isolated and light showers, but overall coverage is expected to be less than 10%. As we head into the weekend I fully expect us to reach 90° in several communities for this first time this year. We will be mostly sunny on both Saturday and Sunday before a weather disturbance rolls in on Monday and gives us a 20% chance of seeing a few showers and thunderstorms.
