No surprise that after a record breaking day across Middle Georgia, we will see another day in the 90’s.
Mostly sunny skies are going to be around through the day on Friday with another very hot afternoon. Heat index values will once again be in the upper 90’s, but we are not expecting much outside of a passing shower or storm through the afternoon.
The focus of the forecast then heads to the Caribbean where we have a “potential tropical cyclone”. This just means within the next few days we are expecting this area of storms to intensify to a tropical depression or storm.
After we see a center of circulation form, we will have a better idea of the track, but right now there are approximately two general trends for the track. Track 1, which will take it approximately the path of Dorian seems most likely at this point.
Track 2 would bring the system across Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. This would bring the best chance of impacts for Middle Georgia. Those impacts being rain and gusty winds.
The forecast is mostly based on the track of the potential tropical storm, but right now main impact is a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise expect temps to be at least a little bit cooler than this week.
