3 arrested for trying to rob gas station in Milledgeville

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three been have been arrested for attempting to rob a gas station convenience store in Baldwin County at gunpoint.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents say the following people tried robbing the Quick Pantry at 3043 North Columbia Street in Milledgeville Saturday evening:

  • Benita Kelsey, 25
  • Kemontaye Smith, 20
  • Justin Fleming, 19

A Baldwin County Sheriff’s deputy saw them and took action.

According to the GBI, the three tried running away, but the deputy fired his gun. He held Kelsey and Smith until other officers arrived.

Fleming later turned himself into the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges

Authorities charged all three with armed robbery.
