MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Welcome back Winter! After a warm start to the month, temperatures have plunged to start off this work week.

After a chilly start to the morning, we will be dealing with a cold afternoon as well. Under a mostly sunny sky, temperatures will be topping out in the middle to upper 40’s. That is well below our average of 58° for this time of year. A breeze out of the northwest at five to ten miles per hour will make things feel colder as well. Tonight, under a clear sky, temperatures will nose dive into the middle 20’s. When you factor in a breeze, temperatures are going to feel like the upper teens and lower 20’s by Daybreak tomorrow.

It’s going to be another cold and dry day. We will see high temperatures in the middle and upper 40’s once again before they fall back into the middle 20’s.

We will gradually start to see temperatures warm up beginning on Wednesday. We stay dry on Wednesday before rain chances increase throughout the day on Thursday and into Friday. Temperatures will be running well above freezing by the time moisture makes it into Middle Georgia so wintry precipitation is not in the forecast.
