Children’s hospital fundraiser goes virtual

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Reindeer Run and Santa Stroll fundraiser is virtual this year.

The annual race benefitting Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health took place in downtown Macon for the past 28 years. The Navicent Health Foundation decided to take the race virtual to promote COVID safe behaviors.

Participants can walk or run the 5k at the time and place of their choice. Runners will have December 4-6 to complete the race. Registered participants will get a t-shirt after they share their results with other racers.

Since the first race,  the Reindeer Run has raised over $700,000 according to the foundation.

Ellen Johnson, president of the Navicent Health Foundation says, “…we appreciate our community’s support now more than ever.”
