A former Dublin KFC employee is suing the restaurant's owner for discrimination after she was fired in July of 2015. Former store manager Cynthia Dunson says the owner of Hester Foods, Inc. violated federal law by firing her when he found out she took prescribed medicine for bipolar disorder.
Three former Cirrus Academy teachers have filed a lawsuit against the school. Ginger Snow, Susan Campbell and Diana Humble say they were wrongfully terminated and harassed because they're white. The lawsuit says they received racially charged, anonymous text messages that called them "crackers," "Hitler lovers," and "white nazis," among other names.
Just 15 days after the Macon Health Club's official close, 12 members of the health club have filed a complaint against Navicent Health Hospital.
Macon-Bibb Commissioner Joe Allen says he disagrees with the commission's approval of changing a county ordinance that would prevent discrimination. "Number one it's already on the books," said Allen. "We don't discriminate in Bibb County."
The Bibb County School District is looking into the complaint.
Sheriff David Davis denies all allegations of discrimination.
The Monroe County School District will pay a former assistant principal $150,000.
